Now accepting applicants for the 2024-2025 Term. (Grades 1st – 6th)

The South Salt Lake Kid Fiddlers Ensemble offers students:

• A student violin, bow, and case to take home and practice with.

• Weekly 30-minute private lesson. (Mondays between 3pm – 6pm at SSL Historic Scott School, 3280 S. 540 E., SSL)

• Group practice and performance opportunities.

All services are free. Students must commit to lesson attendance and daily practice for continued use of their violin. Students who complete the program with good attendance get to keep their violins and trade-up in size as they grow. Lessons begin Monday September 16th. Lesson times and a complete schedule will be confirmed upon acceptance into the ensemble.

We will learn violin beginning with tunes from American Fiddle, Celtic, and Mexican traditional music, but hope to incorporate music from all participants' cultural backgrounds. Please let us know if you have suggestions for additional music for our students to explore. *

I understand that enrollment in the SSL Kid Fiddlers Ensemble requires good attendance.

Good attendance is expected for continued use of the violins provided for home and lesson use. Good attendance is descried as missing no less than 3 lessons a term. Students and parents should be in communication with SSL School of Folk administrators and teachers when attendance hardships occur. Terms are: September - December, January - March, April - June.
